Why this petition matters

Started by Vera Simmons

EDIT: please don't spend money to promote this petition.  I do appreciate your  kindness but that is completely unnecessary.

Thank you for supporting 100 Gardens!

Your signature brings us one step closer to changing Rochester ny and it's residents lives for the better.

To you it's just a signature,  but to me it's encouragement and faith. I appreciate you for it

Thank You to everyone that supported me on my walk across the country for 100 GARDENS  in 2019. The thought that people believed in me and my cause helped me to  finish safely.  You all are extremely  appreciated.

Better late than never, 100 GARDENS   will be planting our first  seeds in spring of 2022. I would  love for you to follow along with me on this journey.

There is undoubtedly a serious and progressing issue of  poverty and food deserts in the city of rochester much like most cities across America.  A product of this poverty is that there's many empty lots that have been foreclosed upon and are now in possession of the city.   100 Gardens plans on using these lots to grow our gardens.

There is over 3000 empty lots within the city  of rochester equalling hundreds of acres of land. Imagine a city that instead of littered lots, had fields of flowers and gardens  filled with fruits and vegetables for the residents to enjoy.

I'm asking for the support of my community, both local and global to help change Rochester i to the place i know it has the potential to be. If we come together to support, love, teach, and uplift one another, we can make Rochester a better place for the generations after us.
