Why this petition matters

THIS IS NOT A LUKE AFB PROBLEM!

We live near the Phoenix Goodyear Airport in Goodyear, Arizona, where the largest flight school has grown over 220% in just one year. The operations (take offs and landings) have soared to over 218,000 in 2023, a shocking 40% increase. The noise from these operations is not only disruptive but also harmful to our community's peace and quiet. Particularly concerning are the Cirrus aircraft which are much louder than traditional Cessna aircraft. These daily operations span over 18 hours a day, seven days a week.

This situation calls for immediate action to establish meaningful noise abatement procedures at the airport and track daily deviations from these procedures. It is crucial that we complete a Part 150 airport noise compatibility planning process for our local airport.

Moreover, it's not just about noise pollution; there's also concern about air pollution levels around the airport - specifically Lead (Pb). We need measures put in place to regularly monitor and control this potential health hazard.

Lastly, an institution of an airport curfew would provide residents some respite from constant airplane noises during late-night hours.

Our quality of life is being significantly impacted by these issues. We call upon relevant authorities to take immediate action towards implementing these changes at Phoenix Goodyear Airport for better living conditions around it. Please sign this petition if you believe in our cause.
