The community of Lakeview/south Mississauga has invested countless hours working closely with city planning staff, Council and developer to reach the Nov 2021 approved Lakeview Village Development Master Plan in Mississauga. As a community that convinced city planners that a complete community on the waterfront was a better option for land use than another power plant, we have acted in good faith when planning for the intensification of our community. The MZO, an order issued by Ontario's Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing bypasses local decision-making processes. The Lakeview MZO threatens the well-thought-out plan that has been made and approved for our community growth. The MZO issued by the Province of Ontario in May 2023 does not reflect the care and attention to detail considered as part of a vibrant and complete community, it does not consider the infrastructure needs of an additional 40,000 people in just one development along our Lakeshore Corridor.

We urge our community to support us in revoking this MZO at Lakeview Village in Mississauga due to its lack of thoughtful planning. Your signature helps to ensure that our voices are heard and respected in shaping the future of our community.
