Why this petition matters

Started by Irfan Khan

Kashmir is an ethnically diverse Himalayan region, covering around 86,000 sq miles (138 sq km), and famed for the beauty of its lakes, meadows and snow-capped mountains. Even before India and Pakistan won their independence from Britain in August 1947, the area was hotly contested. Under the partition plan provided by the Indian Independence Act, Kashmir was free to accede to either India or Pakistan. Kashmir issue is under UN Security Council resolution number 47. Yet for last 74 years there is no progress in this regard and the price is being paid by the Kashmiris till now .The atrocities of the Indian security forces are increasing day by day. Millions of Kashmiri people have sacrificed their lives and The thousands of  Kashmiri innocent girls has been raped by Indian security forces and This trend is not ending but growing. For past 2 years Indian occupied Kashmir is under curfew and people are being humiliated, killed, denied of human Rights and are denied the access to internet as well. First of all, the Government of India End curfew in Kashmir immediately.
We demand a peaceful dialogue between the two countries to resolve this Kashmir issue. People of Kashmir should not be denied of their right of self determination. During this negotiations, UN must Ceasefire across the LOC and Indian Army should lift up the curfew and give  the people of Kashmir their basic Human rights. Indian Army must stop Killing innocent Kashmiris. We demand that the United Nations must resolve this issue now as per its resolutions.
