It is a statement that is currently receiving a lot of attention: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said in an interview with Euronews on the question of whether Ukraine should become a member of the EU: "Over time, they actually belong to us. They are one of us and we want them in.”

Because of the war, Ukraine should now be able to join the EU as soon as possible.
