Build a new Scottish National Football Stadium
Why this petition matters
Hampden Park, home of the Scotland National team, is a stadium of historic significance however despite the deeply held affection the Scottish football fans have for Hampden we need to recognise that it does not provide a great atmosphere like Ibrox or Celtic Park, it doesn’t strike fear into the minds of our opponents, it isn’t a majestic stadium symbolic of the history and passion Scotland has for football and it is time to create a modern facility that is a cauldron of noise for our Tartan Army to cheer our team in national celebration.
We petition the SFA and Scottish Government to build a stadium similar to the Turk Telekom Stadium, Istanbul with standing sections similar to Borussia Dortmund’s Yellow Wall and consider locations including the current site at Hampden alongside places in central Scotland such as Falkirk & Stirling to better facilitate easier travel times for supporters from all over Scotland.
The main problem with Hampden is the vast distance the fans are away from the pitch at the East and West ends. The stands would also benefit from being on a steeper slope to bring the supporters closer to the action. A multi-tier would also give a sense of grandeur currently absent and an imposing facade would also be a source of great pride to our very passionate support.
