Lower UTD tuition if 2020-2021 classes are online
Lower UTD tuition if 2020-2021 classes are online
Why this petition matters
Students in this day and age are suffering the consequences of COVID-19. Many perceive the quality of education to be lower, as most classes have been shifted to online platforms. Students are also missing out on in-person experiences such as clinical practicums, art studios, labs and research opportunities.
Students are also lacking the supports that are only available on-campus, such as tutoring, printing, gym facilities, mental health counseling, advising and even relationship building with other students and faculty members.
However, tuition has not been adjusted to reflect these massive deficits. In the case that classes are online for the 2020-2021 school year at the University of Texas at Dallas, we believe tuition should be lowered to reflected these detrimental changes.
