Why this petition matters

Started by Vincent Nero

City of Boca Raton has continued to approve residential development projects claiming false studies of net-neutral increases to traffic and student enrollment as justification. The falsehoods fed to public to approve these projects has led to Boca Raton School Districts becoming alarming overcrowded. The solution of adding the new  K-8 grade school is short sighted, so long as the City of Boca Raton continues to approve such projects. 100s of Millions of Dollars have been spent on revamping I-95 and local roads, but road de-congestion projects can't keep up with the continued increases of local vehicles caused by these residential development projects. Unethical approvals of these new multistory high rise buildings are burdening existing residents.

New studies must be conducted on all multi-unit residential development projects 4 years after their completion to understand the true impact on school enrollment, traffic, and environment. The new studies must be executed for all projects completed with the last 10 to 4 years to create a baseline difference between the initial proposal projected impact and the real world actual impact. Then the rolling average error rate must be applied to all future project proposals.

Boca Raton City Council and Mayor must stop all approvals of any Boca Raton City residential development projects that are not a 1:1 replacement of an existing residential structure. Boca Raton City Council and Mayor no longer have the authority to approve any residential development projects that are new or expansions. New and expansion residential projects must be put to a popular vote at the next city election where a super majority is required for approval.
