The ratepayers of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County depend on ethical and  lawful actions by the Public Regulatory Commission (PRC)which is charged with protecting us from corporate greed.  

The PRC is not fulfilling its constitutional duty nor is it acting in a professional manner when laws are broken, intentionally or unintentionally.

WHICH LAWS WERE BROKEN?

The Commission's lawyers had unlawful Ex Parte Communications between with lawyers from Avangrid/PNM which show a clear scheme to grant Avangrid/PNM another chance to obtain regulatory approval of the merger without the proper input from all parties.  The Commissioners also held closed door meetings, and violated the New Mexico Open Meetings Act.  Both actions are being investigated by the Attorney General's office. 

WHY DO WE CARE?

The violations of the Open Meetings Act and unlawful ex parte communications demonstrate that the PRC is less concerned with the public and more concerned with doing the will of Avangrid and PNM.  We cannot expect the PRC to regulate important utility transactions or our rates if they can't refrain from breaking the law.  Remember they have been in office 5 months!  

WHAT'S TO BE DONE? 

We, the public and ratepayers of PNM do not trust the PRC and we expect them to resign effective immediately.
