Why this petition matters

Started by Paul Handleigh

THE PROBLEM: We are in the midst of a COST OF LIVING CRISIS which is only going to get worse. The poorest and most vulnerable members of our society will suffer the most. At the same time donations to foodbanks are falling, whilst demand for the support they provide has never been higher.

TO HELP: I want all of the UK's leading Supermarkets (ASDA, TESCO, SAINSBURY'S, MORRISONS, WAITROSE etc) that offer online shopping to build a functionality on their websites which enables visitors, whilst doing their own shopping, to:

  • Produce and pay for a list of grocery products for a local foodbank based on their needs (including delivery)
  • Buy a 'ready made' bag of groceries (for delviery to a foodbank) based on how much they wanted to donate
  • Build the functionality for accumulated 'reward points' to be donated to a local foodbank for them to use

NEXT STEPS: Please sign this petition and share it with as many friends and colleagues as possible and ask them to pass it on. We need to make as much noise about this as possible. This petition will be shared with leading supermarkets to encourage them to adopt the ideas mentioned here.
