The Circle G Ranch, a former residence of Elvis Presley.  The place where he spent a good portion of his honeymoon. A place where he enjoyed the peace and freedom not afforded him elsewhere.

Despite having been listed on The National Register Of Historic Sites in 2019, this significant historic property is in imminent danger of being lost due to the neglect and inaction of the current owners since 2014.

We must urgently secure the future of the ranch; repair, protect and preserve the elements that have a direct link with Elvis’ tenure.

Despite persistent outreach by The Circle G Foundation, the owners have been unresponsive and any promises they have made have been broken and the ranch’s future remains in jeopardy and it is teetering on the brink of oblivion.

There is simply too much at stake to allow the owners to determine its fate.

The State of Mississippi must act now to take proactive steps to protect this property which is already recognised to have historic significance.

Elvis Presley purchased the ranch in 1967 during a pivotal period in his life. The 154 acres of verdant rolling hills is situated on the western edge of the City of Horn Lake Mississippi. The ranch was where Elvis, at that time a newly married man, expectant father and approaching a crossroads in his career, reprioritised his life. It is widely documented by those who spent time with Elvis at the ranch that it was the place where he was the happiest they had seen him.  And Priscilla has stated many times she believes Elvis found peace at the Circle G.

Elvis fans around the world have always known and understood how important the Circle G Ranch is in Elvis’ story.  So much so that just 12 months after his passing the first eternal flame dedicated to Elvis was erected at the Circle G and a large number of fans and Elvis’ friends and family attended the dedication ceremony in August 1978.

We can not state strongly enough that there is too much at stake to allow the whim, neglect and inaction of the owners to determine its fate.

The Circle G Foundation’s vision is to see the property sympathetically and tastefully restored. Obviously it would be a wonderful place for Elvis fans from around the world to visit but it is equally important in our view that the potential for the ranch to offer facilities for disabled children, those in need and service veterans is explored.  We also hope it would be used by the residents of the City Of Horn Lake for their leisure and to celebrate the city’s heritage and culture.

Elvis is perhaps the State of Mississippi’s most internationally famous son.  His name and image is recognised in every country, on every continent and his influence continues to grow both in the global music field and in the wider international cultural arena.

The current owners of the ranch have through their neglect of the property since they purchased it in 2014 shown themselves to be unworthy custodians of a recognised historic property.  Their inability to take the steps needed to repair, preserve and protect the elements linking Elvis tenure

Illustrate this quite clearly.

Their lack of care is not only an insult to Elvis and his legacy but is also an insult his fans, the City of Horn Lake and to the great State of Mississippi.

The Circle G Foundation urges the State of Mississippi to take action to secure the future of the ranch and take the necessary steps to repair, preserve and protect it before it is too late…..time is running out!

The ranch should be protected as part of the State of Mississippi’s rich musical and cultural heritage.

We urge the State of Mississippi to explore all options including invoking Eminent Domain or shared ownership between the State other parties with knowledge and expertise in the areas of historic preservation, music history and tourism.

The Circle G Ranch has a story to tell and we should all be able to experience first hand the very place where Elvis found peace…the calm centre of the storm that was his every day life.  The place he enjoyed happy times with friend and family.  The place that gave him space to think before he repositioned his life and rejuvenated  himself as the King of Rock and Roll.
