Why this petition matters

Dr Kathleen Lynn was a pioneer of women's and children's healthcare and a champion of social justice.

Born in 1874 in County Mayo, Dr Kathleen Lynn was one of Ireland's first female doctors and served as the Irish Citizens Army Chief Medical Officer during the 1916 Easter Rising.

As a founder of St. Ultan's Children's Hospital, Dr Kathleen Lynn dedicated her life to protecting the most vulnerable in our society, ensuring that the women and children of Ireland had access to vital healthcare.

By naming the new National Children's Hospital after Dr Kathleen Lynn, her values and ethos will inform the hospital's culture and provision of healthcare for generations to come. Her name would serve as a constant reminder of the importance of treating every patient with respect, dignity and compassion.

Please support our campaign to have the new National Children's Hospital named after Dr Kathleen Lynn. Please share with your friends, family and anybody else who would like to see the new Children's Hospital named after Dr Kathleen Lynn.

The campaign has the support of Fianna Fáil, Labour, Sinn Féin, the Green Party, Fórsa, SIPTU and the National Women's Council of Ireland.
