Prohibit ATVs on San Felipe Shoreline to Protect Turtles and Public Safety
Why this petition matters
Liwliwa used to be a place where people could relax and enjoy the peace and serenity of nature. However, since the appearance of ATV rentals a year ago, our shoreline has turned into a highway. Not only do these ATVs disrupt our tranquility but they also pose serious threats to both wildlife and human safety.
The pawikans (sea turtles) that call our shores home are particularly affected by this activity. These creatures are already vulnerable due to other environmental factors; the added stress from ATV traffic on their nesting grounds is an unnecessary burden that threatens their survival even more.
Moreover, the reckless use of ATVs endangers people's lives as well. The beach is supposed to be a safe space for families and individuals alike - not an area where one must constantly look out for speeding vehicles.
Accordingly, we are calling on local authorities in San Felipe to ban ATVs from our shoreline immediately. This action will protect not only the habitat of endangered sea turtles but also ensure public safety while preserving the peace at Liwliwa beach.
Please sign this petition if you believe in safeguarding our environment and maintaining public safety standards at our beloved beachfront community.
