Residents of West Bridgford are delighted by the success of Nottingham Forest Football Club and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club. We appreciate the joy and love of life that is brought to our area when matches are on, and we appreciate the economic benefits and jobs that both stadiums bring to our area.

However clearly the arrival of fans does bring other problems, in particular related to transport. This often completely blocks the transport network (including bus services across Rushcliffe and the City), leads to massively increased traffic on side roads as visitors search for parking places, and causes parking misery for residents who are not always able to plan their own lives around the timing of fixtures.  We need a strong proactive, integrated approach to the problem, including match day parking restrictions, increased incentives to use public transport, additional park and ride and much greater emphasis on enforcement.

We call upon Nottinghamshire County Council (as the highway authority), Nottinghamshire Police, Nottingham Forest Football Club and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club to work together with residents to address these issues.
