Petition for Firewatch 2: A Sequel That Players Deserve
We, the undersigned, are passionate fans of Firewatch, a game that captivated us with its stunning visuals, emotional storytelling, and immersive atmosphere. Since its release in 2016, Firewatch has remained one of the most beloved narrative-driven games, leaving players longing for more.
Why We Need Firewatch 2
1. Unfinished Stories & New Possibilities
The original Firewatch left many questions unanswered. What happens to Henry after the summer ends? Does he ever reconnect with Delilah? While the open-ended conclusion was powerful, there is so much more to explore whether through a direct sequel, a new protagonist, or a fresh mystery set in the same world.
2. A Unique Setting That Deserves a Return
The Shoshone National Forest in Firewatch was more than just a backdrop it was a character in itself. With next-gen technology, a sequel could expand on this world, introducing new locations, seasons, and interactions that deepen the experience.
3. A Dedicated & Growing Fanbase
Even years after its release, Firewatch continues to gain new fans. The games impact has endured, with discussions, theories, and fan art still thriving online. Players want to return to this world, whether through a sequel or a spiritual successor.
4. The Need for More Narrative-Driven Experiences
In an industry filled with fast-paced, multiplayer-driven games, Firewatch proved that there is a strong demand for thoughtful, emotionally rich storytelling. A sequel could build on this legacy, offering new themes, relationships, and mysteries to unravel.
Our Request
We respectfully urge Campo Santo and Valve to consider developing Firewatch 2 or a follow-up project that captures the essence of what made the first game special. Whether its a direct sequel, a new characters story, or a different part of the same world, we are eager to support and experience another journey through the wilderness.
Firewatch was more than a game—it was an experience that stayed with us long after the credits rolled. We hope that you’ll listen to the voices of your fans and bring us back to the fire lookout tower one more time
