We have a growing problem in this country where retail theft is a huge problem and other crimes have plagued many of our cities. Crime sadly has become an issue that many have turned too out of necessity, because we have an unfortunate way our society turns their back on individuals who may have a non violent felony which basically has been sadly enforced as discrimination which continues to enforce a system that undermines someone’s will to succeed and causes discouraged workforce that causes many to return to breaking the law landing many back trapped in a cycle of modern day slavery. Employers should not be able to use this as a way of labeling potential employees and is sadly old fashioned Jim Crow tactics in the modern day preventing many from attaining a job and leading to high recidivism rates. If we are to truly grow as a society we truly can not let the past define us.
