Native American Heritage Commission wants to remove written public comments!  This will hurt indigenous voices

Not everyone can afford a last-minute plane ticket for a meeting, especially if there is only 10 days notice. Written public comment is necessary. Elders have trouble traveling, and their voice should be heard. The California NAHC talks about removing written public comments from the record.

Reading public comments, both verbal and written, is standard practice in Robert's Rules of Order. This is a gross overreaction to having one comment read into the record.
 

This petition will be presented in person to the California Native American Heritage Commission. Letting them know the public, tribes and the indigenous community wants to keep written public comment. Our voices should be heard and not ignored.
