Why this petition matters

Did you know that an estimated 2.7 million Canadian children under the age of 11 are active internet users?

While the internet serves as a valuable tool for learning and communication, it can also lead to exposure to age-inappropriate content, including pornography.

Data from the UK suggests that the average age of first exposure to adult content is between the ages of 9 and 11 years of age - with some children much younger*

This isn't just a distant worry—it's happening and is now recognized as a public health issue!

Extensive research shows that premature exposure to pornography can have serious impact on a child's psycho-social development-including lower self-esteem, anxiety and depression.

While parents bear the primary responsibility of shielding their children from harmful content, their resources and ability to monitor online activities are often limited.

Let's ensure our laws keep pace with technology and prioritize the safety of our children. Immediate action is required.

Please take a moment to sign this petition and advocate for the swift adoption of Bill S-210 by parliament.

Your signature matters, and so does spreading the word.
