September 2021 saw the shutdown of Legacy titles using the Rockstar Social Club services, which saw the demise of Max Payne 3’s Multiplayer on Xbox 360/PS3 Consoles; Which disabled the ability to play with others, and 100%/Platinum the Game, due to some Achievements being locked behind the Online Mode…

But as of this posting, on November 15th 2021. The ENTIRE Max Payne Trilogy is now playable, via Xbox Backwards Compatibility, as announced on Xbox’s 20th Anniversary Livestream.

People have waited 5-6 Years since the Backwards Compatibility Program started for Max Payne 3 to become available, so they could play the game or more importantly, the Online on Next Gen Technology…But now its a bittersweet moment for it to be available after the Server Shutdown in September 2021.

But from what I noticed, the Max Payne 3 DLC is FREE in the Xbox Store after being announced as Backwards Compatible, this would be a slap to the face as all the Downloadable Content is purely ONLINE ONLY and the other 50% of the game is currently shutdown, that again being the Online Mode.

Max Payne 3 is a timeless classic a gem, and one of the best 7th Gen title games behind GTA V, with a Multiplayer thats like no other, even beyond its 2012 timeframe, which comes to show as its formula was implemented in GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. It should be fully accessible to Veteran players and New players who never got the chance to experience the Online Mode at all, or barely had the chance to!
