Safer Country is working to create gun violence prevention public awareness campaigns!

Guns are the leading cause of death for children and teens.  A 6-year-old recently shot his teacher.  Approximately 45,000 people are killed by a gun every year.  Cities, suburbs, and rural areas are all impacted.  No place is safe.

Worse, very often someone knew the intention of the shooter but didn't alert authorities because they were unaware that, in certain states, law enforcement has the power to act to prevent a gun tragedy.

In 19 states and Washington, DC, what's commonly called a red flag law (also known as extreme risk laws, which states have called extreme risk protection orders, emergency substantial risk orders, risk warrants, gun violence restraining orders, and more) enables law enforcement, and sometimes individuals, to seek a civil court order to temporarily remove a gun when there is evidence that the subject of investigation is a danger to themselves or others.  False reports are crimes.
