Why this petition matters

Started by Daniel Jackson

I am a citizen of the Free Republic of Verdis, and on October 12, 2023, I was among several settlers unlawfully detained by the Croatian police. This incident occurred in the Free Republic of Verdis, outside the Republic of Croatia. Croatia does not claim the land and insists it belongs to Serbia - which Serbia rejects, therefore making it rightfully Verdisian under international law as the oldest active and only claimant.

We were forced to board a boat under the pretense that we were not being arrested while simultaneously being prevented from walking anywhere else and taken into the Republic of Croatia. In this process, the settlers’ documents and mobile phones were confiscated and settlers were not allowed to record. This action blatantly disregards our rights and freedoms.

By signing this petition, you are standing with us in our fight for justice and respect for Verdis' sovereignty and territorial integrity. We urge you to join us in calling upon global leaders and human rights organizations to condemn these unlawful detentions by the Croatian authorities. The vessels we were brought onto by the Croatian border police were EU-funded and misused. Please sign this petition today.

Croatia has violated international law and disregarded the EU rule of law.
