Children deserve a conducive and clean learning environment. 

Herbert Hoover Elementary has not been renovated since the 1958, except for a small renovation in 1998. Today, almost half of our students attend portable classrooms. An updated multipurpose facility, library, learning lab, classrooms, and an accessible playground are desperately needed for the children.

California state (DSAA) approved Hoover renovation plans and construction was scheduled to begin in 2018. Since, then it has been postponed several times. There is a possibility of unexplained delays or even cancellation of this renovation.  

If the renovation plan is canceled, the city will lose approximately $11.5 million tax dollars that have already been invested in this project. Constant delays in the renovation may lead to Herbert Hoover Elementary School becoming too run-down to continue and would eventually close. 

A budget has already been allocated to this project, plans are approved, so there is no reason to delay. School Boards should fulfill their promises and begin construction as soon as possible according to approved plans.

Hoover Elementary School has an inclusive community of thriving students, engaged parents, a passionate teaching staff, high enrollment, and excellent academic record.
