It’s been 600 days since we saw our Johan, 600 days since he was taken hostage. Johans arbitrary detention is hurting us all and counting the days it’s been since Johan was free is a tough exercise. But we must do it.
600 days unfairly detained is 600 days too much. Johan has 24-hour cell lights that don't let him sleep, inadequate food and restrictions on fresh air and sunlight. He hasn't had a single medical examination since his unjust imprisonment. Johan has gone on at least five 48-hour hunger strikes in an attempt to phone home.
Johan will not be forgotten and we will not stop counting until he is safe with us. It’s been 600 days since we hugged you, laughed with you, heard your stories, biked around town, tasted your food, learned something from you, saw your smile. It’s been 600 days of pain, sadness, and despair. Christmas is approaching and we're afraid it will be another year not worth celebrating because you can't be here with us. But we remain hopeful. We are fighting for Johan every day and we will continue fighting. And you can help us fight too. Take action by signing and sharing the petition in our linktree (link in bio) and join more than 3500 people advocating for Johan's immediate release.
You will come back home, Johan. We love you! #FREEJOHANFLODERUS
