For over three weeks, we have witnessed the instant devastation and human crisis caused by the unprovoked and imperialistic invasion of Ukraine, more than 3 million people have now fled Ukraine.

The definition of a war in our era is a group of young people who do not know each other, who do not hate each other, yet who kill each other, sent by old men who know each other, who hate each other, but who do not kill each other. 

Old politicians do not understand that the world we live in now is completely different from 30 years ago. Our new generation does not need wars, does not want wars, they want to resolve the socio-economic, political, and environmental problems we have not resolved for them.

The millions of displaced Ukrainian refugees, and also Russian citizens fleeing the fascist actions of their ruler, have been welcomed by neighboring countries, but they are getting packed up.

The U.S. has shown its financial, economic and especially military support to Ukraine, but now, both the current administration and the legislation must show support and commitment to the refugees.

 Politicians should not make us feel like if they are taking this crisis as if they were playing videogames in their couches.

 The United States needs to make plans for those refugees to come to our country now! The White House and members of Congress should understand that constituents from all over the nation are concerned about the direct consequences of their decisions and we demand that they take a decisive action to provide a program for the people fleeing Ukraine and Russia.

 If they don’t the American people will hold Congress and the current administration accountable for their inaction. 

Our government needs to do something now to provide relief and accommodate refugees from Ukraine, as well as Russian dissidents, who are the real victims of this war! We must not delay in welcoming them to the United States.

President Biden must sign an executive order immediately, to commence a Visa Waiver Program for refugees of Ukraine and dissidents from Russia seeking entry into the United States, so they can apply right and begin  traveling immediately to the United States, without the need to apply for asylum, because the refugees from Ukraine cannot be added to the backlog of asylum cases already in the system.

The US government must also extend the current temporary protection status for a longer period of time.

The American people want to help. We want to be directly involved in the solution.

President Biden must start a "Peace Host Program", in which thousands of American individuals and families, are ready to host refugees of both countries, Ukraine and Russia.
