Why this petition matters

Started by K N

Students from CBSE schools all over India demand to scrap off the TERM 1 Marks of Class 10 and 12 board exams. STUDENTS WISH TO HAVE ONLY ONE SUBJECTIVE EXAM JUST LIKE A NORMAL CBSE BOARD EXAM. Term 1 exams conducted in Schools were based on malpractice and mass cheating which is not at all fair for students and schools who genuinely attempted the exams with hardwork and determination. Furthermore the new pattern of MCQs in Term 1 does not favour those children who have the ability and capability to logically reason and write creatively. It only favours those who memorise and not solve which is quite unfair. This is what we call "Rattna" in simple language.

This petition is NOT against authorities but is againt the mass cheating conducted! The best way to solve this problem is that Term 1 marks are scraped off and only Term 2 subjective theory marks are considered or atleast the weightage for Term 2 theory marks is increased to atleast 85% percent and Term 1 exam weightage is kept under 15%. This petition in no way wants Board Exams to get canceled. BOARD EXAMS SHOULD BE CONDUCTED FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-22 BUT IN A FAIR WAY AND FULLY SUBJECTIVE JUST LIKE A REGULAR ACADEMIC YEAR.

For an example in the case of English CBSE Board Examination, English is a language based on "interpretation" and "writing" therefore how can one express his point of view in MCQs. Including topics like Letter Writing in MCQ is quite absurd.

Furthermore, the exam condcted was offline and the children attempted it in a gathering (even if it was a small one) then what difference would it have made if was a theory subjective exam? Why keep it an MCQ exam in the first place? The teachers still checked the sheet and they still would have checked had it been a subjective exam. Why does COVID not spread when the examination is MCQ?

I request you all to sign this petition so that the voices of the students who support a fair examination pathway can be heard!
