Why this petition matters

Started by Samuel Ko

I, the undersigned person, am a parent in Ontario.

During the past 2+years, Ontario students' learning has been significantly impacted due to the pandemic. They have experienced interruption, isolation, anxiety, etc.

This fall, Ontario students finally returned to school for a full learning experience. Other than regular learning expectations, they also need to catch-up for what they have missed during the past two years.

This is critical time and there are many very unique challenges they have to encounter.

Unfortunately, I heard the school will be closing again due to a labor dispute. Ontario families are sad, particularly the children.

We urge the CUPE members to work together with the Ontario government on a reasonable agreement and put Ontario kids at the center of the education.

* Our kids need to be in class, this is their right to learn. We absolutely do not want them to be a pawn, bargaining chip or hostage at the negotiating table. We oppose any strike action and support legislative controls.
