Why this petition matters

Started by Bryan McConnell

Facebook sells advertising to Chinese companies without much oversight. As a member, listed on your feed, you may see an ad for "Fuel Filters" that are actually intended to be firearm silencers. A particular type that is sold is illegal to possess without a special stamp from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Possession of that type of device by Americans is punishable by $10,000 Dollars and or 10 years in prison. Many might buy these devices not knowing the laws. Imagine a loved one or friend going to jail for a unintentional felony purchase of a mono core baffle style suppressor from a facebook ad. Many of us have reached out to Facebook to educate them about this product but apparently, the ad revenue and the lack of consequences outweighs the risks to their members. It's past time Facebook takes responsibility for the ads on their platform.
