I’ve recently learned of detention centers in South Carolina and Indiana that allows inmates with good behavior to own cats. This not only helped the inmates tremendously with their mental health, but it also got many cats off the street that would have been euthanized otherwise. I believe this could be an amazing opportunity for progression within our prison systems.
