Debate and Vote on H.R. 5746 : The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act

Since 2020, 19 State Legislatures have constructed barriers to voting and weakened the integrity of the vote.

The US Supreme Court ruled that State Legislatures are sovereign unless Congress exercises its power granted under Article 1.4 of the Constitution to set times, places and manner of federal election laws.

The Senate has filibustered H.R. 5746, The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act.
