伊藤忠アビエーションと日本エヤークラフトサプライは、パレスチナの虐殺に加担しているイスラエルの“死の商人”エルビット・システムズとの協力覚書を破棄してください！

2023年3月に日本で行なわれた武器見本市で、伊藤忠アビエーション（伊藤忠商事の100％子会社）と日本エヤークラフトサプライは、在日イスラエル大使の立ち会いのもと、イスラエルの“死の商人”エルビット・システムズと相互協力を促進するための戦略的協力覚書（MOU）を締結しました。

エルビット・システムズとは、イスラエル最大手の軍需企業であり、イスラエルが行なっている占領、アパルトヘイト、ジェノサイドに加担してきたことで国際的な非難と投資撤収の対象になっている企業です。

エルビット・システムズは2023年10月以降、イスラエルに20拠点ある工場を24時間フル稼働して、今まさにガザで空爆と地上侵攻を続けるイスラエル軍に武器を供給しています。戦争犯罪、国際法違反、人権侵害であるジェノサイドと民族浄化に、現在進行形で加担しているのです。

しかし、それは今に始まったことではありません。イスラエル軍が使用するドローンと陸上装備の85%を生産するエルビット・システムズは、2008年、2012年、2014年のガザ地区の民間人に対する虐殺でもイスラエル軍に自社のドローンを供給していました。

またエルビット・システムズは、ガザ地区、ヨルダン川西岸地区、東エルサレム全域で使用されている監視ドローンや、アパルトヘイト政策の一環である分離壁（国際法違反）の部品も提供しています。過去には白リン弾を製造していたこともあります。

エルビット・システムズは「実戦で証明済み」というキャッチフレーズで世界中に自社製品を売りさばいていますが、これはパレスチナ人を実験台にして性能を実証しながら武器を開発しているということです。実際、2023年10月には「アイアン・スティング」という追撃砲弾がガザで初めて実戦に投入されています。

今ガザで子どもたちをはじめとする民間人を実験台にし、大量虐殺し、パレスチナ人に対するあらゆる人権侵害を支援し続けている“死の商人”エルビット・システムズと協力することは、戦争犯罪、国際法違反、人権侵害に日本企業も加担するということです。

私たちは、伊藤忠アビエーションと日本エヤークラフトサプライに、今すぐにエルビット・システムズとの戦略的協力覚書を破棄し、今後二度とイスラエルの軍需企業と契約しないよう要求します。

伊藤忠アビエーションは、伊藤忠グループの「人権方針」の「6. 救済・是正　伊藤忠グループの事業活動が、人権に対する負の影響を引き起こした、或いは関与が明らかになった場合、適切な手続き・対話を通じてその是正に取組みます。」を遵守し、人権侵害を直接支援しているエルビット・システムズとの協力関係を即刻停止してください。

日本エヤークラフトサプライは、「行動規範　～NAS CSRガイドライン～」の「Ⅰ. 法令遵守と国際規範の尊重への取り組み　②国際ルールの尊守」を遵守し、国際法違反を直接支援しているエルビット・システムズとの協力関係を即刻停止してください。

2024年1月15日（月）に、私たちはこの署名簿を各社に提出します。

2024年1月18日（木）までに、伊藤忠アビエーションと日本エヤークラフトサプライは戦略的協力覚書を破棄すると発表してください。

期限までに破棄の発表がない場合、伊藤忠商事が出資する製品に対するボイコットの呼びかけを含むキャンペーンを開始します。

Itochu must cut ties with Israel’s “Merchant of Death” Elbit Systems! #ShutElbitDown

What we want to change through the petition:

We demand Itochu Aviation and Nippon Aircraft Supply to cancel their deals with Israel’s “Mechant of Death” Elbit Sytems, who are complicit in the genocide in Palestine!

At the weapons exhibition event in Japan (DSEI Japan) held in March 2023, Itochu Aviation (a 100% subsidiary of ITOCHU Corporation) and Nippon Aircraft Supply signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Israel’s “Merchant of Death” Elbit Systems at a ceremony with Israel’s Ambassador to Japan in attendance. The strategic cooperation memorandum promotes mutual cooperation between the Japanese companies and Elbit Systems.

Elbit Systems is Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer and has been directly complicit in Israel’s occupation, apartheid and genocide enacted on the Palestinian people. All over the world, people have been criticizing and divesting from Elbit Systems for their actions.

Since October 2023, Elbit Systems has been keeping their 20 factories based in Israel operating around the clock, and has been providing the weapons to Israel’s military, which continues to bomb and invade Gaza as we write this. They are currently complicit in the on-going genocide and ethnic cleansing, that are war crimes and violations of international law and human rights.

However, this is not something that began today. Elbit Systems produces 85% of the drones and land-based equipment that the Israeli military uses. They provided the drones that the military used to commit the genocide of civilians in the Gaza Strip in 2008, 2012 and 2014 as well.

 

Furthermore, Elbit Systems also provides surveillance drones that are used in the Gaza strip, West Bank and all of East Jeruselam as well as equipment used for the walls built as part of Israel’s apartheid policies (a violation of international law). In the past, they have also manufactured white phosphorus bombs.

Elbit Systems uses the phrase “field tested” when they sell their products around the world. This essentially means that they are using Palestinian people to test and invent new weapons. In fact, their new Iron Sting missile was first used in Gaza in October of this year.

It is clear that “Merchant of Death” Elbit Systems continues to aid the various human rights violations against the Palestinian people and the on-going genocide as they test their weapons on the children and civilians of Gaza. For Japanese companies to co-operate with them is to be complicit in war crimes and violations of international humanitarian law and human rights.

We demand Itochu Aviations and Nippon Aircraft Supply to immediately cancel their MOU with Elbit Systems and to never again contract with Israeli weapons companies. 

We implore Itochu Aviation to strictly abide by Point 6 “Remedies and Corrective Actions” of ITOCHU Group’s human rights policy which specifically states that “If ITOCHU Group's business activities have caused or have been found to have caused negative impacts on human rights, we will work to remedy the situation through appropriate procedures and dialogue.” We demand that Itochu Aviation immediately ends their cooperative ties with Elbit Systems who are directly supporting human rights violations.

We demand Nippon Aircraft Supply (NAS) to strictly abide by their own NAS CSR Guideline which states under the section, “Compliance with laws and regulations and respect for international standards” that they will “(2) Respect International rules.” We demand that NAS immediately end their cooperative ties with Elbit Systems who directly support the violations of international law.

We will be submitting this petition to both Itochu Aviation and Nippon Aircraft Supply on Monday, January 15th, 2024.

We demand that both companies release public statements announcing the cancellation of their MOU with Elbit Systems by Thursday, January 18, 2024.

If there is no public statement by this deadline, we will begin our campaigns to call on boycotts of products that Itochu Corporation invests in.
