In the current climate of high inflation and spiralling cost of living, Australians are being gouged with unjustifiable and supersized energy price increases. 

Our experiences as states and as a nation have shown thay our current reuglatory framework is broken and that implementing a "free market" in various states has not increased competitive behaviour, has not resulted in materially lower prices for consumers, has not resulted in any net benefit for Australians and can only be described as a failed initiative that is desperate for reform.

We need a nation-wide solution that provides a national-scale response to our current and future needs.

Rather than relying on foreign companies to provide for our future needs (which they have comprehensively neglected since inception), the time has come for the federal parliament to design a nationally integrated generation and distribution framework that provides for current and future energy needs at the lowest possible price point, enabling competitive industry and sustainable cost of living for Australian people. This framework must be owned by the Australian people as an essential service asset and must never be returned to private ownership.
