The Minneapolis Police Department executed Amir Locke, a 22 year old Black man. This occurred under the lack of leadership at the Minneapolis Police Department on every level! We will not allow our community members to be murdered by a reckless police force! Mayor Frey and Interim Chief Huffman must resign immediately!

Mayor Jacob Frey ran on the promise that he would ban no-knock warrants. Amir Locke died when the Minneapolis Police burst into an apartment where this young man was sleeping under a blanket. The police lied when they called him a suspect - he wasn't. They lied when they said he pointed a gun at them - he didn't. They lied when they said St. Paul wanted the no-knock warrant - they didn't. The Minneapolis Police Department is attempting to create a false narrative but they murdered Amir Locke.

Mayor Jacob Frey needs to resign immediately. MPD Interim Chief Huffman needs to resign immediately. We need new leadership now. The city of Minneapolis deserves better. We need leadership we can trust. 

As U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar was quoted as saying "Amir Locke had barely opened his eyes when he was executed by a Minneapolis police officer. He was 22 years old. And now, because of the violent, unchecked, and unreformed behavior of our city’s police, his life was taken.”
