Why this petition matters

Started by Dawn Shannon

The Palestinian prisoner Bassam Jaber (28) has been on hunger strike since the 24th of June, in protest of his administrative detention, without a charge or trial, by the Israeli occupation authorities.

Bassam Jaber, from Qalqilya, is on a hunger strike after he was arrested about a month ago from his home in the town of Qatanna, northwest of Al-Quds (Occupied Jerusalem).

Jaber’s lawyer spoke of his client’s dehydration and its dangerous repercussions on his health.

The occupation forces arrested the young Palestinian about a month ago and issued an administrative detention order against him for six months.

We demand the IOF (The Israeli Occupation Forces) release Bassam Jaber and others they have wrongfully imprisoned without charges or trials immediately and without condition. Administrative detention needs to be made illegal and impossible so that innocent Palestinians cannot be detained indefinitely.
