Keep Boston University Covid-Safe!
Keep Boston University Covid-Safe!
Why this petition matters
Dear Dr. Platt and President Brown,
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Boston University has been a leader among colleges in keeping students, faculty and staff safe, with required testing, masks in all on-campus indoor spaces, quarantine housing for sick students, and use of a badge system to show compliance with Covid protocol.
Now, perplexingly, Boston University is throwing all caution to the wind and dropping mask and testing requirements and shutting down the badge system--in spite of the very clear, documented medical evidence that another Covid surge is beginning around the world and in nearby states. Boston University no longer seems to care about the health and well-being of its students and employees or about being a 'trend-setter' in terms of Covid management.
The signers of this petition request that Boston University continue with required weekly testing of all students, staff and faculty, and that masks be required indoors, on-campus (except for eating facilities). The protocol for Covid-sick students needs to be clearly delineated, and students who are sick and sharing bathrooms or dining halls need to be moved into quarantine housing, for the protection of other students.
Don't contribute to the larger-world problem, BU! Be part of the solution and help everyone at Boston University succeed.
