Cinema RAW Light support for Canon XF605
Cinema RAW Light support for Canon XF605
Why this petition matters
In December 2020, Canon launched a firmware update for its camcorder range, including the XF405 / XF400, XA40 / XA45, XA50 / and both the LEGRIA HF G60 and HF G50. This perk was influenced by a range of social corporate responsibility endeavors from industries responding to the Covid 19 pandemic.
Furthermore, Canon launched the XF605 in 2021, a smaller version of the XF705 with practical support for its Canon XF-AVC codec, and shares the DIGIC DV 7 processor which is capable of processing Cinema RAW Light in Cinema EOS systems. With the XF605’s heat exhaust fan, we as customers would greatly appreciate added support for Cinema RAW Light on the XF605.
Incidentally, with the advent of Canon’s new auto focusing algorithms for wedding videography or documentary, the XF605 should be allowed the premium of Cinema RAW Light since Canon has promoted it as a “B” cam when paired with a Cinema EOS camera such as the C70. Consistency for Cinema RAW Light on A (Cinema EOS ala C70) + B (Cinema RAW Light) capable camcorder should be standardized and considered for the XF605.
Please consider this request for us current XF605 professionals.
