We, the signers of this petition, call upon the Governor and Legislature to pass and sign into law Assembly Bill 4819 & Senate Bill 2887, the Community Recovery and Family Success Act.

For too long, our state’s family policies, funding and programs have focused on reacting to family distress instead of proactively investing in opportunities for positive family and community outcomes. This bill will start a transformational shift in state policy and practice by investing in holistic, community-driven service networks designed to ensure ALL New Jersey families have the resources, supports and opportunities needed to raise their children from conception to young adulthood. 

Families, in their many evolving forms, remain the bedrock of communities and the building blocks for our future. A4819/S2887 will support a growing volume of community-based and directed family success services; providing families with the authority and the resources to deploy their unique capacity for supporting each other and restoring the community. The time for change is now.

It is time for our state to INVEST IN SUCCESS AND DIVEST FROM DISTRESS!
