Mae perchennog Dan yr Ogof wedi gwahardd swyddogion Llywodraeth Cymru o’r atyniad gan honni bod y dreth dwristiaeth y bwriadant ei chyflwyno yng Nghymru yn ‘wrth-Seisnig’ ac yn ‘wrth-dwristaidd.’ Mae hyn er gwaetha’r ffaith fod y dreth yn berthnasol i bobl o bob cenedligrwydd, a bod gwledydd ledled y byd yn codi’r cyfryw dreth heb unrhyw effeithiau negyddol ar y diwydiant ymwelwyr. Mae’r agwedd yn bradychu gwir feddyliau cwmni Dan yr Ogof am Gymru – adnodd i’w rheibio, yn bodoli er cyfleustod gwlad arall, ac nad oes ganddi’r hawl i wneud penderfyniadau sydd er ei lles ei hun. Safwn ni, yr isod, gyda Llywodraeth Cymru yn erbyn y fath agwedd wladychol a thrahaus at ein gwlad. Addunedwn i beidio â defnyddio’r cwmni hwn ac i ymgyrchu'n frwd yn ei erbyn.

The owner of Dan yr Ogof has banned Welsh Government officials from the attraction claiming that the tourism tax they wish to introduce in Wales is ‘anti-English’ and ‘anti-tourism’. This is despite the fact that the tax would be paid by visitors of all nationalities, and that countries the world over levy such a tax without any negative impacts on the tourism industry. Such an attitude betrays how Dan yr Ogof truly views Wales – a resource to exploit, existing for the convenience of another country, with no right to make decisions that are in her best interests. We, the undersigned, stand with the Welsh Government on this issue and against such colonialist and arrogant views towards our country. We vow not to visit this attraction and to actively campaign against it.
