As a resident of Northern England(north of Leeds), I can personally attest to the economic challenges this region faces. Once the powerhouse of Great Britain, our land now struggles to keep pace with the rest of the UK. Due to lack of investments and economic support, local businesses are battling to keep their doors open, and residents are finding it increasingly difficult to secure employment.

This is not just an impression but a fact. Between 2018 and 2019, the North of England, despite housing approximately 29% of the UK population, contributed only 19.2% to the UK economy, compared to London’s 23.6%. (Source: Office for National Statistics, UK).

The current state of affairs is not sustainable if we want to ensure long-term equity and prosperity across Great Britain. We urgently need national attention and action to level the playing field. With this petition, we urge the UK Government to implement policies and initiatives that prioritize the revitalization of Northern England's economy.

This will benefit the hole country by building industry all around the country .
