WILD DOGS IN MAHALLAHS
WILD DOGS IN MAHALLAHS
Why this petition matters
Recently there has been a serious issue plaguing Mahallah Hafsah, Mahallah Aminah, Mahallah Asma, Mahallah Halimah, and Mahallah Maryam. There are currently more than eight wild dogs roaming the abovementioned areas, especially at night. While the presence of one or two wild dogs may be tolerable, the presence of eight or more poses a dangerous threat to the safety of the students who reside in these mahallahs.
If this issue continues to persist, we as students fear of even going out to buy food at cafes or even going for our classes at campus. Nowadays, the dogs are getting even wilder and have started chasing the residents and hence injuring them. These dogs have also bravely entered the blocks and scare the students. As a school for students, it is critical that the residents feel safe in their surroundings. However, the wild dogs have made it difficult for students to return to their rooms at night without fear of being attacked.
With Ramadan approaching within a few days, we urge the respective authorities such as OSeM, MRC, IIUMSU, to join hands in taking a swift and serious action to ensure a safe and secure enviroment for the students.
