Senator Ossoff and Senator Warnock please listen to your Eritrean-American and Ethiopia-American constituents that came out in droves to support you!

As you may be aware the Biden Administration imposed lopsided sanctions and pressure on Eritrean and Ethiopian governments for simply fighting back TPLF, an insurgent terrorist group that started war on Ethiopian sovereignty by attacking the Northern Ethiopian command on November 4, 2020 and subsequent aggression by launching rockets targeting Asmara, the capital of Eritrea. In June, the Ethiopian government declared an immediate unilateral ceasefire and left the capital of Tigray region. At the same time, the Eritrean forces withdrew from Tigray region. However, TPLF escalated the war further south to Amhara and Afar region, albeit government’s ceasefire.

In spite of TPLF’s aggression, the Biden administration continued pressuring Ethiopia and Eritrea, including a punitive measure to suspend Ethiopia from African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) that generates employment for about 200,000 people, mostly women in southern Ethiopia working in textile factories that export to the US.

Senators, Eritrean-American and Ethiopia-American communities you represent plea that you listen to our grave concern regarding the position taken by the US Government against the governments of Eritrea and Ethiopia!
