When is America's Birthday?

Most people mistakingly say July 4th, which in fact is our Independence Day. Contrary to popular belief, America's Birthday is actually May 13th. America as we know it was started in Jamestown, Virginia May 13 1607, with the arrival and establishment of the first permanent English settlement in North America. Our US History starts off with this date,  and the landing at Jamestown. On May 13th 2007, Virginia, founded in 1607, celebrated America's 400th Anniversary, or as we say America's Birthday. For these reason and many others we believe May 13th should be a national holiday and not just a Virginia Anniversary. We believe the American people should not only know when, but celebrate our country's Birthday just as much we celebrate our country's Independence Day. For over 415 years we have overlooked this most significant day in our histoy. We believe it is now time to remember, recognize, and celebrate the date our country was born. 

We believe that America's Birthday, May 13th, should become a national holiday, to celebrate the day America was born.
