Hi. My name is Luci. I am a 13-year-old school student who is very passionate about gender equality, climate action, eradicating racial discrimination and just activism in general. I have created this petition as a way to try and get the Federal Government of Australia to commit to a Net Zero target at some time before 2050. If we do not do this, as many other countries have, our nation - and world - will be in huge danger of the devastating effects of climate change that are damaging our earth already. I have personally contacted the Prime Minister of Australia on this matter, and have received a personal, direct reply, but he doesn't seem any more likely to commit to this target that could so easily alter the course of our lives.

By signing this petition, you are increasing the chances that the Australian Federal Parliament will commit to a Net Zero target by a date before 2050. The effects of climate change and global warming are visible everywhere, whether that may be through witnessing rising oceans, plastic pollution, or the extinction of species. I urge you to sign this and do your part in protecting our earth, so that we, our children, and their children, can live on a planet that is not 1.5 degrees warmer than it was when we were born.
