As a passionate community of gamers, we have been on a rollercoaster journey with Battle State Games (BSG). We are drawn to the unique immersion, beauty, darkness and excitement that Escape from Tarkov offers in the First-Person Shooter (FPS) genre. This game stands out among all others for us. However, our experience is being marred by cheaters who exploit the system for their advantage.

We believe that introducing phone number verification for servers within Escape from Tarkov could be an effective solution to this problem. This measure has been implemented successfully by other gaming companies and has shown positive results in reducing cheating incidents. For instance, Rainbow Six Siege, introduced phone number verification for ranked games and saw a significant decrease in cheating cases.

Adding a phone number verification is just one small step in improving the health of our beloved game, we are aware that while this may seem like a small thorn in the side of every hardcore cheater this is more meant to help alleviate the ease of "casual" cheating that plagues Escape From Tarkov.

One of the biggest sources of accounts for cheating is stolen accounts from brute forcing or phishing users.

Depending on the MFA (Multi-factor Authentication) implementation, attackers may lose the ability to brute force accounts entirely, and have to resort to socially engineering, or tricking people into sharing their password and cooperating with an MFA request.

Adding the MFA/Phone Number authenticated server(s) will offer a solid back bone to the overall safety of the game by potentially reducing the overall amount of stolen accounts! It strongly encourages players to enable authentication to get a more solid and safe experience.

This is hopefully the first in many changes and additions to success in making this game a healthier, friendlier and hardcore experience
