Reinstate the Outer Circle No.11 bus to former unbroken route.
Reinstate the Outer Circle No.11 bus to former unbroken route.
Why this petition matters
This petition is requesting the reinstatement of the unbroken circular no.11 Bus route around Birmingham to improve the service travelling through Acocks Green.
In preparation for the Commonwealth Games in 2022, with roadworks to improve Perry Barr and access to Alexander Stadium, National Express decided to break the long standing, circular number 11 bus service in both directions at Acocks Green. This was supposed to have been a temporary measure, in an attempt to minimise disruption, but it has never returned to the former unbroken circular route.
This means that everyone who wishes to make a journey that passes through Acocks Green ALWAYS has to get off in Acocks Green Village and wait, sometimes up to 30 minutes or longer, for another number 11 bus to continue their journey. This happens in both directions, so it is impossible to travel through Acocks Green uninterrupted. This causes terrible delays and much frustration to bus users. Even though there have been appeals to reinstate the service, the bus company has informed residents there are no plans to return it to the unbroken route.
Passengers in Perry Barr and Erdington are also affected by the route changes in at least one direction.
