Archbishop Elpidophoros must resign immediately! Patriarch Bartholomew must take action to terminate AB Elpidophoros!!

The Church should not be involved with politics. AB Elpidophoros stuck himself right in front of all the political controversial issues, clearly siding with left-leaning ideology. For example, he endorsed Joe Biden during a prayer at the DNC. He marched at a BLM protest in June of 2020. He prayed for Joe Biden, a man who supports abortion. He said the woman has a right to choose to abort because God gave us free will. Yes, God gave us free will but AB Elpidophoros did not follow up with a disclaimer that those who choose to abort should repent and change their ways. These are all Democrat talking points that do not include Christian views.

He also advocated multiple spoons at communion, and his speech on The Future of Orthodox-Catholic Relations in the USA has compromised the Orthodox faith. His remark about “myriads of paths” to salvation once again appeared as a secular, political context.

Furthermore, AB Elpidophoros attended the opening of the Turkish House in New York on September 20, 2021 and joined in the celebration and flourish around Erdogan…On that day, the Archbishop put the greatest and most vile affront ever on the Greek American community and the Greek nation.

He is also a hypocrite. He acknowledges that God gave us free will to choose how to keep our bodies clean or defile them yet he clearly stated that requests for religious exemptions from covid vaccine will be denied!  How is that for letting us have free will??!!!

More recently, he made possible the First Greek Orthodox Baptism for Child of Gay Couple in Greece. As quoted by Fr. Benigno Pardo in a letter to Archdeacon John Chryssavgis, “Same sex unions are only a perversion, as the Holy Scriptures make clear (e.g. Romans 1:20-32; Leviticus 20:13). Yes, children are entitled to be baptized. However, there are a few requirements that have to be met, the most basic of which is a promise by the parents and godparents that the child will be raised in the faith, and only Orthodox Christians in good standing can make such a promise. This requirement was not met in this case...This was a sacrilegious abuse of Baptism, a business transaction which made use of surrogate mothers and endorsed the trafficking of poor women who are compelled by their poverty to rent out their wombs to produce children for wealthy gay men.”

Archbishop Elpidophoros is destroying Orthodoxy. He is contrary to the life of any Saint in the Church. He is ignoring Holy Tradition which was left behind for us to use as a guide to a righteous Orthodox life. He is more concerned about offending others than offending our Lord. We must not change or compromise our Orthodox faith and virtues. He must resign and repent.
