Pass SB 1470: Oklahoma Survivors' Act
Pass SB 1470: Oklahoma Survivors' Act
Why this petition matters
Out of 43,000 domestic violence calls in Oklahoma County in 2021, less than 1,000 resulted in arrests. Domestic violence victims are often left to their own devices, and then punished when they do what they have to, to survive.
SB1470, would ask that Oklahoma Courts take into consideration, whether or not a defendant had been abused at the time of their crime, or up to a year prior. This new law would affect 500+ existing cases in Oklahoma, and provide lower sentencing for domestic abuse victims going forward.
LET'S PASS SB1470!
