Liebe Studierende der Folkwang!

Das kommenden Sommersemester 2023 wird das letzte Semester sein, in dem wir das Lehrangebot Gender & Diversity von Prof. Dr. Simon Dickel haben werden.

Die Lehrstelle ist befristet und läuft nun aus.

Aktuell gibt es keine Planung seitens des Rektorats diese Stelle zu verlängern, geschweige denn auszuweiten oder zu entfristen.

Wir, Celina Köhring, Karoline Martin und Rebecca Racine Ramershoven, sind aus vielen Gründen bestürzt und entrüstet darüber.

Die Gender & Diversity Lehre an einer internationalen Hochschule nicht mehr anzubieten, ist im Jahr 2023 schwer vorstellbar und ein Rückschritt, den wir als Studierende nicht hinnehmen sollten!

Woher nun die Gelder kommen um diese Stelle am Leben zu halten - und diese künftig auszubauen - ist Aufgabe der Hochschulleitung. Unsere Aufgabe als Studierende ist es, klar Position zu beziehen und deutlich darauf aufmerksam zu machen, dass dieses Angebot weiterhin bestehen bleiben muss.

Wir sehen auch klar ein Defizit darin, wie intransparent die Teilnahmemöglichkeit in der Vergangenheit über den Fachbereich 4 hinaus kommuniziert wurde. Dies ist auch der Tatsache geschuldet, dass die Seminare im Quartier Nord stattfinden. Studierende am Campus Werden, ob aufgrund des vollen Lehrplans oder aus logistischen Gründen, konnte bisher kein zufriedenstellendes Angebot gemacht werden. Hier sehen wir in Zukunft die Möglichkeit, durch eine Vollzeitstelle das Angebot auszuweiten oder zumindest transparenter für ALLE Fachbereiche zu kommunizieren. 

Wir appellieren also mit Nachdruck an alle Studierenden sich kurz Zeit zu nehmen und diese Petition mit Ihrer Folkwang-Email-Adresse zu unterschreiben.

Dear Folkwang Students!

The upcoming summer semester 2023 will be the last semester in which we will have the lectureship Gender & Diversity of Prof. Dr. Simon Dickel.

The teaching position is temporary and will now expire.

Currently, there are no plans on the part of the Rectorate to extend this position, let alone expand or de-fund it.

We, Celina Köhring, Karoline Martin and Rebecca Racine Ramershoven, are dismayed and outraged by this for many reasons.

To no longer offer Gender & Diversity teaching at an international university is hard to imagine in 2023 and a step backwards that we as students should not accept!

Where the money will come from to keep this position alive - and to expand it in the future - is the responsibility of the university administration. It is our task as students to take a clear position and to point out that this offer must continue to exist.

We also see a clear deficit in how non-transparent the participation option was communicated beyond Faculty 4 in the past. This is also due to the fact that the seminars take place in the Nord Quartier. Students at the Werden campus, whether due to the busy curriculum or for logistical reasons, have not been able to be offered a satisfactory option so far. Here we see the possibility in the future to expand the offer through a full-time position or at least to communicate more transparently for ALL departments. 

So we strongly appeal to all students to take a moment and sign this petition with your Folkwang email address.
