Why this petition matters

Started by Conwy Valley Enduro Club

Please sign this petition to show how important it is to the Conwy CBC we want to keep our legal lanes for trail riding and vehicle access open - maintain Ffordd Bryn Siriol, Dolgarrog (pottery lane) as a UCR to allow fair and equal access to the countryside by all users.

The council want to close this lane to vehicular access and downgrade to a bridleway. Please support this petition by signing to keep highways that have been around for a long time in north wales with huge local heritage and history open. Stop the favouritism to certain user groups.

Specifically the current lane in question is Bryn Siriol (pottery lane, Dolgarrog). We want to keep this as a UCR so it can be enjoyed by all as it has been for a long time.

We want to keep these lanes open to be enjoyed by local, hardworking trail riders who have equal rights to the countryside as anyone else. There are already only limited legal routes to ride and I believe there is a duty to provision and keep these lanes open to support a legitimate hobby that also supports the local economy.

Closing lanes/downgrading UCRs is not management - it will create more issues. I believe that the routes can be managed properly by the council and many people who live in the area are offering to help support the maintenance of these routes so they can be enjoyed.

Closing lanes/downgrading also restricts access to parts of the countryside that can only be accessed by vehicle, for example by a disabled person and is non-inclusive for a legitimate pastime.
