Help us open the eyes of World Health Organization on its member of the Executive Board killing people in prison by medical non-assistance! Save the lives!

Doing nothing is also an action! World Health Organization, stop supporting repressions and medical non-assistance! By not making a decision and taking action, you are making a choice and agreeing to the suffering and death of not guilty.

At the 74th the World Health Assembly on 28 May 2021 Belarus was elected as a member of Executive Board of the WHO despite the violations of basic human rights by dictatorship in Belarus.

On June 11, 2021 The Belarusian Community in France sent a letter to the WHO describing (the full text here https://www.facebook.com/BelarusEnFrance ):

-   Denial and neglect of Covid-19 situation by Belarusian government which led to the catastrophic situation in Belarus healthcare sector and huge amount of deaths that could have been avoided. The dictatorship in Belarus has even used the pandemy to intentionally contaminate his opponents in prisons to make them die.

-   Repressions against Belarusian doctors for their volunteership during the governmental military violence, their political opinion and their truth about the Covid situation. Thousands of doctors have been arrested and then lost their jobs or had to flee the country. Several doctors are currently in prison, among them Andrei Lyubetskiy, one of the best maxillofacial surgeons in the country.

-   The number of victims of the dictatorship continuously increasing. Since the beginning of New Year, 2 humans already have lost their lives because of the regime; the total number now is at least 25 humans.

-   The number of cases of minors arrested and mistreated.

-   Medical non-assistance to the political prisoners who need urgent medical help.

-   Belarus government terrorism, genocidal and criminal acts against humanity and human rights.

-   Cases of pushing citizens to suicide by repressions, ridiculous accusations, psychological abuse and tortures.

But the WHO hasn’t heard our voices. We haven't received any answer or action from them. 

Today we have another emergency case in Belarus prison!

Andrei Voinich, an activist of “European Belarus”, sentenced to 7 years under the article “Participation in mass riots”, needs urgent hospitalization and liver transplant.

Andrei is fatally ill, he has cirrhosis of the liver after viral hepatitis, diabetes mellitus, and a tumor over the adrenal glands, a gall bladder removed, and many related complications.

He needs an urgent liver transplant; before his arrest, he visited a transplantologist every month.

When he ended up in a punishment cell, he was intentionally cut-off medicines by guards, now he cannot follow a special diet. His situation is worsening every day.

We ask the WHO to put pressure on The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus and Minister Dmitry Pinevich to release Andrei Voinich and provide the necessary medical assistance.

World Health Organization, don’t let his death be on your conscience!

We continue to appeal to the World Health Organization:

1. Condemn the collaboration of the Ministry of Health with the terrorist regime of Lukashenko

2. Oblige the Belarusian Ministry of Health to allow independent doctors in Belarusian prisons in order to verify and document the physical and mental state of the detainees, to carry out the necessary medical examinations and care

3. Compel the Belarusian Ministry of Health to refuse to collaborate with the regime and put pressure on the regime to release all political prisoners.

We hope that with your help the voice of Democratic Belarus will be heard in the WHO and that our cause of saving lives of innocent people will be supported.
