Coimbatore railway station is the highest contributor in revenue, passengers and goods for the Salem division. Coimbatore with its limited infrastructure is in the top three stations in the Southern Railways. 

We have been demanding restoration of train services from Coimbatore to Madurai via Pollachi which were discontinued due to guage conversion ten years ago. But, railway authorities are yet to restore the services.

Coimbatore must be connected to Tirunelveli by an Intercity day express train and Rameswaram by an overnight express train everyday which was a very successful service.

Both the trains should go via Pollachi,  Palani, Dindigul, Madurai and further till the destinations everyday. The Second and third biggest cities of Tamilnadu will be connected better for the public to travel safely. 

Coimbatore to Tirunelveli Intercity express. 

CBE - 6.00, MDU - 10.45, TEN - 13.30 and return.

Coimbatore to Rameswaram Overnight Express.

CBE - 23.00, MDU - 04.30, RMM - 9.30 and return.

The train facilities from Coimbatore to Southern districts of Tamil Nadu which will promote tourism , business and cargo movement.
